The Paralegal will support the Vice President, General Counsel, and work primarily under the direction of the Director of Legal Operations, in providing legal support to the cooperative. This position will assist in drafting legal documents and correspondence, including board-level materials such as policies, memoranda, and resolutions, processing and responding to subpoenas, assisting with bankruptcy matters and related legal processes, conducting legal research, case management, assisting with interpretation of legal documents and responses to legal inquiries, and other legal-related matters. The Paralegal will work closely with General Counsel and the Director of Legal Operations to ensure all legal documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and managed efficiently.

Education
Minimum: Two (2) year associate’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field.
Preferred: Paralegal certification from an accredited program.
Job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience
Minimum: Three (3) years of experience as a paralegal, preferably with experience supporting inhouse legal operations, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, or related functions.
Experience in bankruptcy and/or real estate law is a plus.
Preferred: Experience or similar work in an electric utility or related industry.
Other Requirements
Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
